Bhul Na Jaana ("the App") is a grocery and household list app designed to help elderly users create shopping lists and share them via WhatsApp with family members or grocery stores. This policy explains what data we collect and how it is used.
Phone number: used to verify your identity via OTP (one-time password) and to check subscription status.
Contact details you enter: names and phone numbers of family members you choose to add, so the app can send your list to them via WhatsApp.
List and catalog data: the items, quantities, and custom items you add are stored on your device to personalize your experience. This data is not uploaded to our servers.
We do not collect location, camera, microphone, or any data beyond what is described above.
To verify your account via OTP, to check and manage subscription status, and to enable the WhatsApp-sharing feature you use within the app. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing.
Account and subscription data is stored using Google Firebase (Firestore), hosted in the asia-south1 (Mumbai) region. List and catalog personalization data is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to our servers.
Firebase Authentication (Google) for phone/OTP verification; Cloud Firestore (Google) for account and subscription data; Razorpay for payment processing (if you subscribe); WhatsApp for message sharing, which is initiated by you and governed by WhatsApp's own privacy policy. No other third party receives your data from us.
Your data is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us at the email below; we will delete your data within 30 days of a verified request, except where retention is required by law.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and to withdraw consent — all exercisable by contacting us at the email below.
We use Firebase's standard encryption in transit and at rest. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Bhul Na Jaana is intended for adult use (18+) and for use by adults on behalf of elderly family members. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
